Catalina Juarez

Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, April 10, at the Eddy County Fairgrounds Community Building for Catalina Corona Juarez of Artesia.

Juarez, 92, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at her home.

Ricardo Leaton will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Catalina was born March 22, 1925, in Artesia, the daughter of Augustine Corona Sr. and Alvina (Sosa) Corona.

On July 21, 1946, she married Daniel Chavez Juarez in Artesia. She was a lifelong resident.

Catalina was a homemaker and a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Juarez, of Artesia; sons Manuel Daniel Juarez and David R. Juarez; daughter Kathy Caraveo; brother Augustine Corona; sister Marisela Garcia Corona; 20 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Vera Gonzalez.
