Firefighters from the Artesia Fire Department and all area volunteer departments have a blaze that reportedly affected three structures on West Blevins Road in Atoka under control as of around 7 p.m. today.

Crews battled the wind as they worked to extinguish the fire, which was reported between 5:30 and 6 p.m. today, and residents in the area were evacuated while firefighters worked to get the blaze under control, as well as keep it away from propane tanks and a fuel truck in the area.

Just before 7 p.m., crews reported the fire was mostly under control, and firefighters will now be on scene into the evening for mop-up work.

Further details will be reported as they become available.
