Wayne Deering

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at LaGrone Funeral Chapel in Roswell for Wayne Deering of Roswell.

Deering, 102, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2017.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at South Park Cemetery in Roswell.

Visitation is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. today at LaGrone Funeral Chapel.

Wayne was born June 19, 1914, in Marysville, Texas, to Emmit Levi and Minnie Belle (Wyatt) Deering.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and the Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include daughters Dorothy Crouch and husband Nubbin of Artesia, and Joyce Newsom and husband Larry of Roswell; grandchildren Roy Crouch and wife Dianna, Randall Crouch and wife Dena, and Rita Derrick and husband Lewis, all of Artesia, Elaine Gwinn and husband Malcom of New Castle, Ind., Wayne Mims of Los Lunas, Kevin Mims and wife Yon Ok of Bonaire, Ga., and Sherri Parsons and husband Andy of Owasso, Okla.; 17 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; and his special friend of more than 16 years, Tina Rudolph.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmit Levi Deering and Minnie Belle Wyatt-Deering; his wife of 63 years, Alice Durham Deering; Jessie Lee Deering, Johnnie Buford Deering, Eula Mae Curnette, and Ada Pearl Hill.
