Elvira Segura Grado

Memorial services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lake Arthur for Elvira Segura Grado.

Grado, 74, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, in Lubbock, Texas.

She was born Aug. 2, 1942, in Santa Rosa, the daughter of Lucio and Justina (Romero) Segura. She came to Artesia in 1961 from Santa Rosa.

On Dec. 11, 1961, she married Isidro Grado in Morton, Texas.

Elvira was a housewife and enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, and cooking. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lake Arthur.

Survivors include her husband, Isidro Grado; son Isidro Grado Jr. of Lake Arthur; daughters Juanita Gurrola and Diana Grado, both of Artesia; brothers Joe Segura of Roswell and Jessie Segura of Lake Arthur; sister Mary Campos of Lake Arthur; nephew Phillip Segura of Albuquerque; and grandchildren Jaeven Grado, Janeesa Grado, Jaethen Grado and Samantha Gurrola.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Eddy Segura; sister Christie Valenzuela; and nephew Eric Segura.
