The Chaves County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) announced Thursday it has made three arrests in the 2013 murder of a Roswell man.

Adrian Ray Juarez, 20, Juan Carlos Alonso, 19, and Alisha Talamantes, 18, were taken into custody in connection with the Dec. 2, 2013, murder of Jerry Parks at his home in the 1500 block of Eisenhower Road west of Roswell. The CCSO says it believes the trio was at Parks’ home to commit a robbery. He was shot and killed during the crime. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle at the home earlier that morning, and deputies were able to first locate a vehicle matching the description, then identify the suspects.

All three suspects were juveniles at the time and are thus charged as delinquent children.

Juarez is being held at the Chaves County Detention Center (CCDC) on a $500,000 cash-only bond on charges of murder, aggravated burglary, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and unlawful possession of a handgun by a minor.

Alonso is in custody in Albuquerque with no bond on charges of aggravated burglary, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, transferring stolen property, and unlawful possession of a handgun by a minor.

Talamantes is in custody in Alamogordo with no bond on charges of aggravated burglary, armed robbery, and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.

“I want to thank my Detectives Division for all the hours, days and weeks of effort which went into getting these individuals charged with these crimes,” said Chaves County Sheriff Britt Snyder. “Mr. Parks was not a person to bother anybody, and we never have forgotten him and this terrible crime.

“It is always rewarding to law enforcement officers when we can bring criminals closer to justice.”
