Fans are encouraged to turn out in force Friday, Feb. 3, as the Artesia High School basketball teams host their annual Pack the Pit night during District 4-AAAAA games against Goddard. Junior varsity action begins at 4 p.m., followed by the Lady Bulldog varsity at 5:30 p.m. and the Bulldog varsity at 7 p.m. All elementary school students will receive free tickets courtesy of Western Bank.

Pack the Pit night will be a “blackout,” meaning fans are encouraged to wear black.

To avoid confusion, fans are asked to note the AHS basketball teams’ drawing for the Ford F-150 pickup, as well as the Sixth-Man Club’s hamburger fry, are both slated for Friday, Feb. 10, at Bulldog Pit, when the Lady ‘Dogs and ‘Dogs will take on Lovington. Pack the Pit was originally slated for Feb. 10 but was later moved.

Tickets for the truck raffle are still available and may be purchased from any basketball parent, at George Gandy Insurance, or by contacting Christie Harris at 513-6017 or Candida Gonzales at 719-306-5167. Need not be present to win.

The hamburger fry will be held from 4-7 p.m. Feb. 10; tickets are $10 each and include a hamburger, chips, drink and dessert. To purchase, see any Sixth-Man Club member or call 703-7431.

The Lady Bulldogs are also hosting a free children’s clinic for girls in grades K-9 from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Bulldog Pit. Participants will receive a t-shirt and pizza.
