Maegan Lemon

Central Valley Electric Cooperative will send two local students on this year’s all-expense-paid Government in Action Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.

Maegan Lemon and Brittany Yaste will get to watch history come alive in the nation’s capital as they explore museums, memorials and monuments for a week in June. Lemon and Yaste will join students from around New Mexico and from across America to learn about electric cooperatives, American history, and U.S. government. Students will also have the opportunity to meet with New Mexico’s congressional delegation.

Lemon is a junior at Artesia High School and the daughter of Teresa and Joe Lemon. Yaste is a junior homeschool student and the daughter of Tanya and Arvel Yaste.

CVE encourages all high school juniors and seniors to apply for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. For more information, visit www.cvecoop.org.
