After decades of dormancy, the Daily Press is resurrecting its previously annual football Player of the Year award, and this year’s recipient is Bulldog senior running back Isaiah Weideman. Weideman was a work horse RB for the ‘Dogs over the past two seasons. His powerful running style and ability to sniff out the gaps made him a go-to athlete when Artesia found itself in need of a first down as well as an equal threat to break a long run. He finished his senior year with 734 yards and 12 touchdowns on 83 carries and is a 2016 South All-Star selection.
