Paul B. Hernandez

A rosary and mass are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Paul B. Hernandez.

Hernandez, 73, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, in Artesia.

Interment will take place at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family members.

Paul was born July 19, 1943, in Artesia, the son of Pete Hernandez and Lola Balencia. He was a longtime Artesia resident.

On Aug. 1, 1964, he married Emma Bejarano in Artesia.

Paul was a foreman for Giles Construction working at Navajo Refining Co. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and loved spending time with his family and grandkids.

Survivors include sons Paul B. Hernandez and Gary B. Hernandez; daughter Angela B. Hernandez; brothers Fred Hernandez, Arturo Hernandez, John Hernandez, Martin Hernandez, Joe Hernandez, Steve Hernandez, Frank Hernandez and Ramon Hernandez; sisters Nancy Contreras, Lucy Campos, Lupe Levario and Corina Hernandez; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Hernandez, on Dec. 1, 2001; his parents; and brothers Manuel and Benny Hernandez.
