A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, in the Fireside Room at Hermosa Church of Christ in honor of Wanda Faye Wilson-Ross.
Wilson-Ross, 75, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016, in Lubbock, Texas.
Wanda was born Dec. 31, 1940, in Lamesa, Texas, to Orvall Jewel and Minnie (Day) Warner.
On May 2, 1957, she married Thomas BR Wilson in Lovington, and the couple came to Artesia in 1960 from Texas. He preceded her in death April 21, 2009. On Dec. 14, 2012, she married JT Ross in Roswell.
Wanda worked as a nurse at Artesia General Hospital for many years. After leaving the hospital, she was a bookkeeper for her family’s business.
She was a member of the Fox and Lake Church of Christ in Carlsbad and a former member of the Hermosa Drive Church of Christ. Her love in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who referred to her as “Mimi.”
Survivors include her husband, JT Ross, of the family home; son David Wilson and wife Diana of Artesia; brother Orvall Leon Warner of Corsicana, Texas; sister Marie Kinsey of Greenwood, Texas; and grandchildren Lacy Jay Wilson and Justin Dean Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marjorie Stegall.
