Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Hermosa Church of Christ for Sue Dodd of Artesia.

Dodd, 70, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016, in Lubbock, Texas.

Doug Austin will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Martin Green, Jackie Clifton, Spencer Scott, Tommy Montgomery, Mike Williams and Steve Clark.

Visitation will be held until 8 p.m. today at Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Sue was born Dec. 29, 1945, in Colorado City, Texas.

On Jan. 12, 1968, she married the love of her life, Jerry Dodd, in El Paso, Texas.

Sue will be remembered as a beloved wife, mother, grandma, great-grandmother and friend. She was an excellent cook and homemaker, and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, topped off with the perfect glass of tea.

Over the years, she collected a large assortment of rabbits; she even had several painted into a scene on a picture in a guest bedroom. Sue also loved to hit the casinos when she was not playing games on her iPad.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry, of the family home; daughters Mitzi McCaleb and husband Eric of Artesia and Bianka Landavazo and husband Vern of Wichita Falls, Texas; son Darin Dodd and wife Cheridy of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren Chance Scarborough and wife Morgan, Jordan Landavazo and wife Christian, Brian McCaleb, and Austin, Braedin and Carson Dodd; great-grandchildren Mayci and Casen Scarborough; sister
Mary Evans and husband Floyd of Hobbs; brother Jackey Rodgers and wife Nancy of Georgetown, Texas; niece Gaylynn Shaffer and husband Matt; nephews Darrell Evans, Sean Rodgers and wife Emily, and Seth Rodgers; great-nephews Brenden and Hayden Shaffer; and great-niece Nella Rodgers..

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dean Rodgers, and granddaughter Lauren Landavazo.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home, 1356 N.M. 236, Portales, N.M., 88130.
