Two people have been arrested in connection with the Wednesday murder of a Roswell man.

The arrests came less than 24 hours after the death of Jeremy Ridens, 35, who was found shot and stabbed in south Roswell at about 3 a.m. Wednesday and died from his injuries a short time later at a hospital.

Officers with the Roswell Police Department arrested Joshua Linares, 21, and Santiago Aguilar, 20, in connection with the crime, which investigators believe to be connected to an attempted robbery. Each is charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in relation to Ridens’ death. Linares and Aguilar are each being held at the Chaves County Detention Center with no bond.
