The Roswell Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted on charges of assault and child abuse.
Teddy R. Sosa, 35, of Roswell, allegedly entered a home in Roswell at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday and proceeded to assault a woman there, chasing her around the home with a knife.
The incident reportedly stemmed from Sosa wanting to take the couple’s 14-year-old daughter.
Sosa allegedly threatened to kill the woman and her family, beat the woman’s 18-year-old son, and slapped the daughter. When the woman struck him with a baseball bat, Sosa returned to his own residence in the same city block, stopping along the way to threaten a neighbor while holding a machete-like weapon.
Sosa fled his home prior to the arrival of police.
Sosa is described as 5’5” weighing 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of the name “Anisa” on his left forearm, one reading “Crazytown” on his upper left arm, and one on his back reading “Sosa.”
He is wanted on charges of aggravated burglary, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of battery, and abuse of a child.
Anyone with information as to Sosa’s whereabouts is asked to call the RPD at 624-6770 or Chaves County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-594-TIPS (8477).
