TO THE EDITOR:

I wish the City would adjust the light at 13th and Grand.

The way it is right now, it would be faster to put in a four way stop because people end up sitting at a red light while every other direction around them goes even if there aren’t any cars on that side, and then 13th stays green for much longer than Grand even though there are less cars on 13th because of the construction cutoff.

The traffic from the high school is getting backed up just as bad or worse than it ever was because of how long the Grand light stays red and how short an amount of time it is green. People trying to turn right on red don’t have any idea which lane has the green at that time and I have seen some near wrecks.

It is confusing to drivers to have one random lane of a four lane intersection going and you never know which. If people are in the left turn lanes (and only if!) the arrows should turn green together on either Grand or 13th and then the lights turn green after like it does at 13th and Main.

Thank you,
