Detectives with the Artesia Police Department are investigating a stabbing that occurred Friday evening.

APD officers were dispatched around 10:30 p.m. Friday to the 600 block of South 10th Street in reference to an individual who had been stabbed multiple times.

The victim was airlifted to Lubbock, Texas, and was initially listed in critical but stable condition.

The incident reportedly took place during a party at the residence, and approximately five individuals witnessed the events of the altercation.
