ARTESIA — ‘I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change’ (rated PG 13) comes to the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, and at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.

The Artesia Arts Council and Way­Way Off Broadway are teaming together on this fund raiser for their not­for­profit organizations. I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is presented in the form of a series of vignettes connected by the central theme of love and relationships.

The plays tagline is “Everything you have ever secretly thought about dating, romance, marriage, lovers, husbands, wives and in­laws, but were afraid to admit.” With few exceptions, the scenes stand independent of the others, but progress in a fashion designed to suggest an overall arc to relationships throughout the course of one’s life.

Way­Way Off Broadway has performed the show at several venues in Roswell and will be making it’s Artesia debut. “Part of our mission statement is dedicated to the promotion of cultural arts not only in Artesia but also neighboring communities,” states Laurie Schotz, the Artesia Arts Council’s Executive Director. “So once I met with Summer from Way­Way Off Broadway, in Roswell, I knew we needed to work together. Also, it just so happens Julie (Maupin) Washichek from Artesia stars in the production. Who doesn’t want to see a hometown gal?” All profits from ticket sales go to these two great organizations making a difference in our extend communities through the arts.
