The New Mexico Department of Veterans Services (NMDVS) will host a Veterans’ Benefits and Resources Fair from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Saturday, July 23, in the VMV Ballroom at the New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) in Roswell.
Military veterans, National Guard/reserves, and component/transitioning active-duty military personnel are invited to attend and meet representatives from the NMDVS and other local, state and federal agencies to learn about VA healthcare and rural VA healthcare clinics, the GI Education Benefits Bill, employment and small business help for veterans, property tax exemptions for veterans, hunting, fishing, camping and museum discounts for veterans, transportation to VA healthcare clinics and the VA hospital in Albuquerque, and many more programs and services available for veterans and their families.
“This is a great chance for veterans in Roswell, Chaves County, and the surrounding area to get information about their benefits — benefits which they’ve earned through their military service to our country,” said NMDVS Secretary Jack Fox, who will be on hand to welcome veterans and their families.
“A lot of agencies will be here under one roof — making it a great ‘one-stop opportunity’ for veterans to gather as much information as they can from agencies who are committed to helping veterans and their families.”
