The New Mexico State Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Dexter man.

NMSP officers responded around 7:30 a.m. today to mile marker 351 on U.S. 70 northeast of Roswell in reference to a rollover.

Initial investigation revealed a vehicle driven by Jeremy L. Deason, 33, of Dexter, was travelling westbound on U.S. 70 when it left the roadway and rolled numerous times. Deason, the sole occupant, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.

He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
