The Artesia Band Boosters will hold their annual Sporting Clay Shoot Saturday to benefit the Artesia Public Schools band programs.
There are still sponsorships available to purchase before then, including the “orange” sponsorship, which is $1,250 and covers a team of four shooters, and the “white” sponsorship, which is $500.
Individual shooters are also encouraged to participate at a cost of $150. Individual shooters will be grouped in teams of four the day of the event.
Each person registered will receive a surprise shooter registration gift, and door prizes to be offered include guns and YETI coolers.
“Come out and support the band,” said Kevin Bartley of the Band Boosters. “It’s a great way to spend a Saturday morning with a chance to win something cool.”
According to Bartley, there is a one-in-five chance of winning a door prize.
The clay shoot’s registration will begin at 8 a.m., and shooting begins at 9 a.m. at the Eddy County Shooting Range, 131 N. Firehouse Road in Cottonwood.
Lunch will be provided at noon and will be catered by Big Jeff’s BBQ.
The Band Boosters have also set up “gun boards,” where people can purchase a space on a board of 100 spaces for $20 for a chance to win a gun. Gun boards are located at Bennie’s Western Wear, Big Chief Trading Post, and First Street Firearms, LLC.
