TrumpWith 50 percent of precincts reporting on the Republican side and 74 percent Democratic, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton have been declared the winners in today’s New Mexico primary election.

Trump has received 72.8 percent of the overall vote (51,636) in the precincts reporting, followed distantly by Ted Cruz (12.3 percent; 8,706) and John Kasich (7.3 percent; 5,148), who previously dropped out of the Republican presidential race.

HillaryIn the Democratic presidential primary, Clinton defeated Bernie Sanders, currently by a margin of 53 percent (68,942) to 47 percent (61,051).

In Eddy County specifically, with all precincts reporting, Trump earned 78.2 percent of the vote (3,526), Cruz 11.2 (507), Kasich 4.1 (183) and Ben Carson 3.9 (178). Hillary Clinton received 51.9 percent of the vote (1,606) and Sanders 48.1 (1,490).
