Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport, Texas, for Jack Barnard Patterson of Bridgeport.

Patterson, 78, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in Bridgeport.

Rev. Gary Sessions will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at the East Bridgeport Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Cook, Cody Romines, Rob Shannon, Daniel Offutt, Pat Schmidt, Cory Kelsey and Mike Moss.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Jack was born March 18, 1938, in Bennington, Okla., to Buel and Mildred (Briggs) Patterson.

On Aug. 28, 1961, he married Gayle Blevins in Artesia.

Jack was retired from the oil and gas industry, where he worked for Natural Gas, Mitchell Energy, and Chief Oil and Gas. He proudly served his country in the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Gayle Blevins Patterson, of Bridgeport; daughter Karen Patterson Wier and husband Frank of Bridgeport; grandchildren Eric Woodard and wife Carrli, Heath Woodard, and Candice Woodard, all of Bridgeport, and Tyler Wier of Decatur, Texas; great-granddaughter Brittyn Woodard; sister Joan Joy and husband Bill of Artesia; brothers Jerry Patterson and wife Bonnie of Garland, Texas, James Patterson and wife Cathy of Odessa, Texas, Johnny Patterson and wife Rosalee of Picacho, and Joe Bob Patterson and wife Jennifer of Arlington, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Joyce Bridges, Julia Bray and Jeannie Treadaway.
