Gregory Valenzuela was arraigned by Carlsbad Magistrate Judge Henry Castenada on Wednesday morning in Carlsbad on charges of first-degree murder and two counts of tampering with evidence.
Castenda set Valenzuela’s bond at $100,000 cash only and scheduled a preliminary examination for May 25 in Judge Daniel Reyes’ court in Artesia.
Valenzuela was arrested early Tuesday morning in connection with the Monday evening death of 48-year-old Adrian Acosta of Artesia.
