Area candidates for the Eddy County Commission, county sheriff, and county treasurer will square off in live debates this week.

The Artesia Chamber of Commerce and Pecos Valley Broadcasting will host the events at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center, 310 W. Main St. Admission is free to the public, and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Debates between District 2 commission candidates Royce Pearson and Jon Henry and District 3 candidates Glenn Collier, Larry Wood and Guy Lutman will begin at 6 p.m. Monday. Debates between sheriff’s candidates Mark Cage, Kelly Lowe and John Patterson, and treasurer candidates Frank Barrera and Laurie Pruitt will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
