Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Rita Brizeno Dominguez of Artesia.
Dominguez, 80, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at her home.
Fr. Martin Valejo will officiate at the services, with cremation to take place following the services under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Terpening & Son. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Grace.
Rita was born May 22, 1935, in Artesia to Florencio and Jesus (Cardenas) Brizeno. She was a lifelong Artesia resident.
In January 1950, she married Jerry Mendoza Dominguez in Carlsbad.
Rita was a homemaker and enjoyed collecting things. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, serving them by fixing wonderful meals. She was a great cook.
Survivors include daughters Deborah A. Dominguez and Dora Dominguez, both of Artesia, Diane Spanfield and husband Frank of Perris, Calif., and Delfina Dominguez of Garden Grove, Calif.; sons Daniel Dominguez and Domingo Dominguez, both of Artesia, Felipe Dominguez and Antonio Dominguez; sisters Herlinda Huerta, Mickey Florez and husband Fred, Rickie Salsberry and husband Eloy, and Marcelina Brizeno; brothers Benito C. Brizeno, Frank Brizeno and wife Alice, and Paul Brizeno and wife Imelda C.; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dominguez, on Jan. 15, 2011; her parents, Florencio and Jesusita Brizeno; brothers Santiago Brizeno, Juan Brizeno, Antonio Cardenoz and Raymundo Cardenoz; son David Dominguez; grandson Brian Dominguez; son-in-law Daniel Alcocer II; and numerous siblings.
