A black 2014 Ford four-door and white 2003 Ford SUV sit in the roadway Tuesday afternoon following a two-vehicle accident in the 1800 block of First Street. Artesia Police Department officers were dispatched just after 12:30 p.m. to the scene. Debris scattered across the roadway forced the reduction of U.S. 285 to one lane while the scene was cleared. At least one vehicle was towed. No injuries were reported, and no information on citations was available at press time.
