3-6-DrSeussAbove, students, faculty and staff at Hermosa Elementary School decked out in their most zany Seussical attire Wednesday in celebration of the 112th birthday of author Theodor Seuss Geisel, known and beloved as Dr. Seuss. Below left, Maisy Combs, 5, left, and Brooks Joseph, 5, create Cat in the Hat hats during an Artesia Public Library event Wednesday honoring Seuss. Library staff provided themed snacks and crafts, and read Dr. Seuss stories to a large group of excited children. At bottom, Amelia Heady, 7, serves up some popcorn before returning to listening to a story.
