Services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Angelina “Angie” Martinez Rodriguez of Artesia.
Rodriguez, 61, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Fr. Martin Cornejo, OFM, will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Junie Martinez, Ernesto Martinez, George Martinez, Estevan Rodriguez, Roger Torrez and Geraldo Chacon.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at Terpening & Son Mortuary. A rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Grace.
Angie was born July 14, 1954, in Artesia, the daughter of George and Ernestina (Elias) Martinez. She was a lifelong Artesia resident.
On May 6, 1995, she married Ramon Rodriguez in Artesia.
She was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the Crusillistas, and a women’s prayer group. Angie loved to work word puzzles and spend time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Ramon Rodriguez, of the family home; daughters Angelina Valdez of Artesia and Christina Martinez of Hobbs; son Estevan Rodriguez of Artesia; sisters Jane Luevano, Margaret Franco and Carmen Mariscal, all of Artesia, Rose Gill of Fresno, Calif., and Gloria Delgado of Lake Arthur; brothers Tony Martinez of Las Cruces and David Martinez, Ricky Martinez and Raymond Martinez, all of Artesia; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Jimmy Martinez; sister-in-law Alice Martinez; and nephews Jeremy Hatfield and Jesiah Espinoza.
