Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Terpening & Son Chapel for Alfred Thomas Thompson of Artesia.

Thompson, 77, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at his home.

Jerry Jameson will officiate at the services.

Alfred was born Aug. 5, 1938, in Depew, Okla., the son of Marvin Thompson and Dorothy (Graves) Thompson.

On March 22, 1957, he married Lila Morean Bagsby in Pampa, Texas, and the couple came to Artesia in August 1969 from Oregon.

He was a pumper in the oilfield and loved to hunt and fish.

Survivors include his wife, Lila Thompson, of Artesia; daughter Robin Claney of Artesia; son David Thompson and wife Laura Ann of Carlsbad; brother Tommy L. Thompson of Artesia; sister Delores K. White of Avery, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
