Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo, Texas, for Ramona Lewis Karr, formerly of Artesia.
Karr, 65, passed away Dec. 5, 2015, in Amarillo.
Dr. Murray Gossett will officiate at the services.
Ramona was born Oct. 26, 1950, in Bokoshe, Okla., to William James and Bessie Lee (Bourne) Lewis.
On Aug. 20, 1971, she married Sam Karr in Artesia. The couple celebrated their 44th anniversary this year.
Ramona drove a school bus for the Artesia Public Schools before beginning her work at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Artesia, from which she retired. She and her husband moved to Amarillo in 2013.
She loved her family dearly, but her joy was centered on the lives of her five precious grandchildren and, of course, her Dachshunds. She also enjoyed travelling and had become a member of the Friends and New Neighbors of Amarillo.
Survivors include her husband, Sam, of Amarillo; sons Brent Karr and wife Charla of Seminole, Texas, and David Karr and wife Amy of Lamar, Colo.; sisters Doris Reiser of Artesia, and Dean Baskett and husband Jerry of Gardendale, Texas; brother Larry Lewis and wife Christa of Keller, Texas; and five grandchildren, Madolyn, Jarryd, Bryce, Conner and Brennen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Eckertt Grey, in 2014.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to a charity of choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Angel Funeral Home of Amarillo. Condolences may be expressed online at www.angelfunerals.com.
