12-10-ToysTotsThe annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots giveaway will take place Sunday in Artesia.

The Eddy County Marine Corps League L/Cpl. Andres Garcia Detachment No. 678 will hold the giveaway from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at the Elks Lodge, 322 Quay Ave.

Parents or legal guardians must accompany children and provide proof that child belongs to them via birth certificates or Social Security cards.

Parents and guardians will also need to present a driver’s license or other form of identification, such as a utility bill, verifying they are a resident of Eddy County.

In order to allow parents to surprise children with presents under the tree, parents may also come alone. A birth certificate or Social Security card for each child will still need to be presented, and a form must be filled out. Those who filled out a form last year will not need to do so again.

Organizations helping families in need of assistance may call 575-457-2058 in advance in order to make arrangements for obtaining toys.

Toys for Tots donations of new, unwrapped toys may still be dropped off through 4:30 p.m. today at the Daily Press office.
