The Artesia Police Department is reminding the public that it will continue during the month of December to target driving under the influence of liquor or drugs.

Officers will also be paying attention to related offenses, such as seatbelt use, speeding, and open containers.

“Please help us make the Christmas season joyous for all motorists on the road by making the conscious decision to not drink and drive,” said Cmdr. Lindell Smith of the APD.

Special operations, super blitzes, and sobriety checkpoints are all possibilities during December.
