Decorations on light poles in downtown Artesia twinkled against grey skies Saturday as signs of Christmas began springing up throughout the community. From preparations for Thursday’s annual Light Up Artesia event to exterior lumination and trees in windows of local homes, coupled with the added excitement of Saturday’s Class 5A state title football game – set for 1 p.m. Saturday in Las Cruces – the City of Champions is sure to be all aglow this holiday season.
