Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at First Presbyterian Church for Charlene McGary of Artesia.
McGary, 81, passed away Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, at San Pedro Nursing Center.
Daniel Phelps will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Bearden Sr., Rick Ranspot, Michael Ranspot, Daniel Bearden Jr., Greg Blevins, Johnny Blevins and Gary Parrish.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Terpening & Son Mortuary.
McGary was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Grandview, Texas, the daughter of Charlie Allen Parrish and Gladys (Newsom) Parrish. She was a longtime area resident.
On April 9, 1955, she married Jesse McGary in Ft. Huachuca, Ariz.
She was a housewife and member of First Presbyterian Church and the Sigma Alpha sorority. She liked to paint, sew and cook.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse McGary, of Artesia; sons Robert Stephen McGary and Stacy Dale McGary, both of Artesia; daughter Donna Kay Bearden of Carlsbad; brother Gary Parrish of Cameron, Texas; sisters Mary Dean Sowders of Malvern, Ark., Roma Dunn of Granbury, Texas, Ellen Madron and Eddie Lou Blevins, both of George West, Texas, and Bobbie Ann Ranspot of Cameron, Texas; grandchildren Jennifer McGary, Tiffany Carbajal, Shannon Marquez and Daniel Bearden Jr.; great-grandchildren Nolan Cockrum, Jonathan Cockrum, Korey Bearden, Mia Carbajal, Amelia Bennett, Raylyn Bearden, Dominic Cockrum, Rahylyn Bearden and Christian Cockrum.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Donovan McGary.
