From the time Mayor Phil Burch began Tuesday’s city council meeting to the time it was all said and done, about 15 minutes had passed.

Four councilors, including Kent Bratcher, Jose Luis Aguilar, Jeff Youtsey and Nora Sanchez, were absent from the meeting.

On the agenda was a request for permission to use Baish Veterans’ Park from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Nov. 7 for the annual Balloons & Tunes festival, which passed. Other items on the agenda, including three public hearings concerning ordinance considerations and approvals, were postponed to the next council meeting Nov. 10 due to attendance.

Two personnel items on the agenda – a resolution to approve a time recording policy and a resolution approving a cell phone policy – were also postponed to the Nov. 10 meeting.

Following the community development, infrastructure, city attorney and city clerk reports, Burch and the councilors adjourned to a closed executive session to discuss threatened or pending litigation.
