The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) along with the Artesia Police Department has scheduled a National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the APD, 3300 W. Main St.

Another locally-sponsored take-back day will be held from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Senior Center, 202 W. Chisum Ave., accompanying an art show scheduled that day at the facility.

The take-back days aim to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposal of prescription drugs while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of such medications.
