Artesia native Jacob De Hoyos performs George Gershwin’s “I Got Rhythm” during a solo recital Saturday at the Ocotillo Performing Arts Center. De Hoyos, an accomplished and decorated pianist currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts at Stony Brook University in New York, performed a number of selections ranging from the upbeat sounds of Gershwin to the sombre tones of Chopin’s “Marche Funebre.”
