Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Hermosa Church of Christ for Albert Lewis of Artesia.
Lewis, 93, passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at Good Life assisted living facility.
Michael Joiner will officiate at the services, with interment to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Maupin, Darrell Brown, Paul Klontz, Larry Young, Dwayne Pounds, John Foster and Doug Rodney.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m.
today at Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Lewis was born Feb. 12, 1922, in Floresville, Texas, the son of E.H. Lewis and Floy (Griffith) Lewis. He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps as a flight mechanic in the Pacific during World War II.
On Nov. 23, 1946, he married Maxine Odell Pogue in Sinton, Texas, and the couple came to Artesia in 1971 from Sinton.
He retired as plant foreman at Marathon Oil and was a member of Hermosa Church of Christ. His first love was family, followed by building, gardening and woodworking.
Survivors include daughters Kitty Lewis of Dallas, Texas, and Mary Lasater of Artesia; sons Jim Lewis and wife Kathy of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Don Lewis of Long Beach, Calif.; grandchildren Staci Molina of Artesia, Sarah Rogers of Mission, Texas, Cody Lasater of Ft.
Worth, Texas; Steven Lewis of Mt. Pleasant; and Allison Lewis of North Charleston, S.C.; and great-grandchildren Austin Lasater, Ariah Molina, Ella Rogers, Alexander Molina, Ben Lasater, Witten Rogers and Caroline Lasater.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Lewis, on Oct. 17, 2010; his parents; two sisters; two brothers; and sonin- law Paul Lasater.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Water Well Project at Hermosa Church of Christ or the New Mexico Christian Children’s Home in Portales.
