An accident that occurred around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of 13th Street and JJ Clarke Drive between a vehicle and a motorcycle resulted in injuries to both riders of the motorcycle. The Artesia Police Department reports the collision occurred when a Chevrolet travelling westbound on JJ Clarke proceeded into the intersection of 13th Street into the path of the motorcycle, which was headed south on 13th Street. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Artesia General Hospital with minor injuries.
His passenger, a 19-year-old female, was airlifted to Lubbock, Texas, with moderate injuries and is reported to be in stable condition.
