Area Girl Scouts try on 1900s-era fashions during a visit to the Artesia Historical Museum July 30 as part of their three-day Pioneer Camp. “While here, they learned firsthand what it was like to be a girl growing up in Artesia in the 1900s,” said Museum Manager Nancy Dunn, “had a picnic on our grounds, dressed up for ‘old-time’ photos, played old-fashioned yard games, and made sun-print photos.” The Girl Scouts also made butter, yarn dolls, button necklaces, pillows and ice cream while earning their “Playing the Past” badges.
