Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Upper Hope Cemetery for Billie Raynell Smith of Artesia.

Smith, 60, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at her home.

Jess McCabe will officiate at the services.

Smith was born May 23, 1955, in Artesia, the daughter of Billie Merle (McCabe) Cox.

She was a longtime area resident.

On Dec. 7, 1981, she married Thomas William Smith in Carlsbad.

She was a paramedic and member of Kenneth Copeland Ministries and the Phi-Beta Kappa Honor Society. She enjoyed painting china, scrapbooking, and dog grooming.

Survivors include her husband, Will Smith, of Artesia; parents Billie Merle Mann and stepfather Clifton Mann of Lovington, and stepfather Jay Alcorn of Artesia; daughters Jesse Luginbill of Artesia and Sheila Stewart of Roswell; stepbrother Cliff Mann Sr. of Artesia; stepsister Leandra Finney of Roswell; grandchildren Kodi Smith and Chani Overmire; and great-grandchildren Jaedon, Kase and Jaxson.
