Memorial services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at Hermosa Church of Christ for Paul Rea Lasater of Artesia.
Lasater, 68, passed away Friday, Aug. 7, 2015.
Michael Joiner and Taylor Robles will officiate at the services.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Goss, Kent Bullock, Jim Barnett, David Lasater, John Norris, Buddy Shanks, John Foster, Dwayne Pounds, Mike Prude, Jack Joy, Roland Lundy, Michael McGlothlin, Charlie Pogue and Taylor Rea.
Lasater was born June 7, 1947, in Tiptonville, Tenn., the son of Paul Aaron Lasater and Betty Jo (Rea) Lasater.
On Aug. 11, 1973, he married Mary Lewis in Artesia, and the couple came to Artesia in 1974 from Laramie, Wyo.
Lasater worked as a pharmacist.
He was an active member of Hermosa Church of Christ and a past member of the Artesia Rotary Club. He attended York College, Abilene Christian College, and – what he was most proud of – the University of Wyoming, where he completed his School of Pharmacy degree.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and just spending time in the mountains. He also loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lasater, of the family home; daughters Staci Molina and husband Eric of Artesia and Sarah Rogers and husband John of Mission, Texas; son Cody Lasater and wife Courtney of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren Austin Lasater, Aria Molina, Graciella Rogers, Alexander Molina, Benjamin Lasater, Witten Rogers and Caroline Lasater; sister Cynthia Lasater of Tennessee; and father-in-law Albert Lewis of Artesia.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
