With the conclusion of two-a-days workouts and the first practice in full pads Friday, the Bulldog football team is counting down the days to its season opener, now less than three weeks away. Above, a graphic of the 2015 schedule was recently installed in the Bulldog Bowl parking lot, marking the date of the defending Class 5A State Champion ‘Dogs’ first outing: a rematch of the title game Aug. 28 in Belen. Between now and then, the Artesia High School squad will hold its intrasquad scrimmage at 5 p.m. Thursday at Bulldog Bowl, followed by the annual intermural scrimmage against Onate and Quarterback Club hamburgery fry at 5 p.m. Aug. 20.

A “Moms’ Clinic” is also slated for 6 p.m. Monday at the Bulldog Bowl field house, which will give mothers, grandmothers, sisters and aunts of players the chance to learn the ins and outs of being a Bulldog.
