Martinez join Mayor Phillip Burch as he declares the month of March 2015 as MARCHiversary in Artesia in celebration of the library’s one-year anniversary. According to the proclamation, libraries are a part of the American dream, as they are places for opportunity, education, self-help and lifelong learning. “The APL is the heart of the community and provides it with a wide range of resources from traditional book lending to free broadband access and community classes,” the proclamation states. The citizens of Artesia are using the new library in record numbers. Burch encourages residents to visit the APL and take advantage of the many programs and events in this month-long celebration.
